3. Travel portals are all crap

So the decision is to go to Goa. Its quite hot and sunny out there but that is okay with us... never seen beaches before.

We started our search, Delhi to Goa at top air ticketing websites like - makemytrip.com, yatra.com, go indigo, and many other direct websites of flights. To our surprise the tickets were available but at 3 times the cost, though enough tickets were available. We could sense our Goa trip being dumped.

The discussion started again and with a heavy heart we decide to be economical and travel by train. Dharamshala was our next select destination. Our search stated with irctc.com and almost end there because, the portal was ultra slow on my high speed broadband and huge waiting list. We did not gave up and searched trains on makemytrip.com, yatra.com, trip advisor.com but zero results. We could not find tickets and there was no point to buy tickets from waiting list especially for a night travel with ladies to an unknown city. Not safe.

It was then decided to also explore Nainital and Jaipur as an option for travel. We repeated above process but in vain.

We then decided to search volvo bus to Dharamshala, Nainital or Jaipur and travel... more out of desperation to travel. Our search started with redbus.in, himanchal tourism, make my trip. Another surprise, limited buses were listed with almost all seats filled.
Hoping against hope and wasting 3 days on search. We finally decided to give up internet website and use our links. So, I called few friends and got direct number of Hari Tarvels, City Heart travel, and many more.


Luckily, we got the AC volvo tickets easily and deal was cracked in 45 minutes. Moreover, got home delivery of tickets at a nominal charge...


we are not ready to go... But Why did it took 45 minutes crack the deal?
